Personality:

 

-Loyal / Devoted / Obedient: He is quite devoted to Captain Aurelius, he clearly idolizes him.

-Dedicated / Hard working: Reiner does his best to always do what needs to be done.

-Literal: When it comes to his captain, he will take everything the man tells him to do literally. Sarcasm completely goes over his head.

-Daydreamer: While he is hard working, depending on the situation he will start daydreaming very vividly and become unaware of the world around him.

-Altruistic: Reiner tends to put others before himself most of the time, which he has done since childhood.  As a soldier he truly believes in the safety of the citizens first.

 

History:

 

Reiner is an elf who has lived in Rier all his life and has not seen much of the world.  When Reiner was younger he would go out in the woods or into caves with his group of friends.  Usually they would lead their little adventures and Reiner would obediently follow.  This periodically would lead to trouble on a number of occasions, usually nothing that bad.  Until they ended  up angering a group of monsters when they were playing. Reiner ended up leading the monsters away from his friends, which almost cost him his life.  However, a Canar  Military Officer, Captain Aurelius, happened to be patrolling the area managed to see this and intervene on time, saving the boy’s life.  Aurelius would ask Reiner about what happened.  After hearing the boy’s story , the man would lecture Reiner about blindly following his friends like he did, and about Reiner’s recklessness.  Although, he did admire the kid’s bravery.  Still, Aurelius would tell Reiner that he should make decisions for himself.

 

Impressed by Aurelius’s abilities and speech Reiner decided that he would no longer blindly follow other’s orders.  Instead he’d strive to join the military and follow Aurelius’ orders instead (much to Aurelius’ dismay.  What he was trying to tell Reiner seemed to have somewhat went over the kid’s head.)

 

Reiner would eventually join Canar military just as he dreamed of.  In fact, his dream of serving his saviour came true.  Currently Reiner is low in rank despite being  a soldier for a few years.  There are a few reasons for this:

 

1. While he has shown himself to be dedicated and hard working, Reiner has also blundered a number of assignments due to several acts of clumsiness.

2. His devotion to his captain, he would rather not be placed anywhere else in the army.

3. Daydreaming when he wasn’t suppose to be spacing out or stopping suddenly to write  poem.

 

Overall he’s not choked up about this.  Reiner would rather server under his current commanding officer than be given  higher rank.

 

Then one day…

 

“Reiner, would you ‘get lost’ for a while?  I’m busy,” Aurelius scoffed.  At the moment the man was currently looking over some papers, he didn’t bother even looking up at Reiner.

“Sir yes sir!”

It was only when the boy left the room did Aurelius realized what he had said. “...He’s literally going to get lost now isn’t he..?”

 

And with that Reiner, wandered into the woods, no map or anything to indicate direction with him, proceeding to get lost...very, very lost.

Despite this Reiner was handling himself just fine.  Eventually, after a day or so Reiner found a cave to explore.  Distracted he searched inside its depths as he found it was calling to him.  Reiner found a strange room inside of it.   His memory of what happened after he entered the room is a bit fuzzy.  All he can recall is a monster appearing and Aurelius showing up.  Afterward blanking out Reiner found himself back in his room.  From that point on Aurelius began to act a bit strange...Reiner wants to know why.

Hobbies/Interests/Skills:

-Writing poems:  His love of poems comes from his parents.  He keeps a journal with him at all times in case he comes up with a poem.  When a poem comes to him, he has to stop everything he’s doing to write it down.  This has naturally led to problems.

-Glass Making:  He hasn’t done it on his own to this date; however, he has assisted his friend and neighbor whose family has a Glass Making shop.  In fact, Reiner keeps a mini glass jar  pendant necklace with some blue sand in it with him at all times.

-Captain Aurelius: Reiner is completely devoted to him and constantly thinks about him.  After all Reiner idolizes him.

-Sewing: Reiner can do some simple stitch work, mainly for fixing ripped clothing. He also knows how to sew up a  wound if necessary and always carries a sewing kit with him.

-Exploring Caves: To this day Reiner still enjoys looking around caves.  He finds them really beautiful.  Plus one never knows what wonders they will find inside a cave!

-Swordsmanship and Archery: As a child his father showed him the basics of both.  While Reiner had fun trying out both styles, he pursued swordsmanship over archery.  For a challenge Reiner decided to take up using two blades in battle.

Favorite Food: Potato and Macaroni salad.  He also enjoys Macaroni and Cheese (This is his favorite comfort food).

 

Relationships:

 

Captain Aurelius -  Reiner’s commanding officer and the man who rescued him when he was younger.  Aurelius is constantly on Reiner’s mind.  Aurelius will sometimes say things sarcastically or jokingly and Reiner will do exactly what Aurelius said. Depending on the situation it has brought Aurelius grief.  Aurelius has been acting bit strange lately.  

 

Quinn and Fiona Yates - They are Reiner’s parents.  Poetry is what brought the two together. and they shared their love of it with their son.  Quinn is an ex-soldier who left the military shortly after he married Fiona.  Fiona is a writer who has deep love of poetry and novellas.   Quinn and Fiona spent some time Adventuring together as a married couple until Fiona got pregnant with Reiner, then the two elves settled down.  

 

Natasha - A friend of Reiner’s who he met by joining the military.  She is also an officer under Captain Aurelius.  Natasha is a pathological liar.  Natasha can get Reiner to do things for her by simply telling him Aurelius ordered it.
